Here you have to stop a little bit longer, by that model which pulls most of visitors viewing the exhibition. It rose attraction and admiration mostly of children viewing cross-section, through accommodations and movable machinery of the tug. “Ares” – scratch build model presented by Jan Koszczynski from Gdansk in scale 1:25 (~1/2'') shocked the members of the jury that admitted him the highest note. Result 100 points rewarded his over 3 years labour while building this model with watchmaker's or jeweller's precision.
![]() On/off button was used very often by youths and children and also by their parents explaining them how parts work in genuine boat. ![]() Unfortunately the model had to be guarded continuously to avoid any damage. The desire to touch this or that was very high. Once more, high appreciation and congratulations to Jan Koszczynski. Ares is still working at Gdynia port, Poland. Jan Koszczynski needed 3,5 years to build the tug, which in scale 1:25 has length of 1440 mm, height – 940 mm, width – 400mm. All parts are hand made, mainly from brass. Some of Jan Koszczynski's models are exhibited at Maritime Museum in Gdansk, and also can be viewed at Jan's website - www.modelarstwo.za.pl
