More to come!

Now it is certain: The Model Ships Festival (Fest der Modellschiffe) will take place between 28th and 30th March 2008 in Vienna-Hietzing.
The exhibition will be hosted at Hietzing district office buildings -
Hietzinger Kai 1.

The impressive building stands directly by the Wienfluß (Vienna river) and with its tower is visible from far away! Two festival rooms are connected by wide corridors, which will likewise serve us as showrooms.

The exhibition is organized by FHS - Freunde Historischer Schiffe - together with the Municipality of Hietzing. A Cooperation with the district museum Hietzing is also planned. The FHS sections:  Model Building,  History and k.u.k. Naval Plants and Fortresses are the supervisors of 2 ½ days event, where exhibitors from Austria and other countries are expected.

3 major framework topics are planned:
  • k.u.k. Navy and their ships
  • from the log-boat to the aircraft carrier
  • the Danube and its meaning as traffic route - once and now

In those 2 ½ days thousands of work hours are presented, hours invested for basic research and model construction.

The infrastructure of the place of the event is outstanding with its historical surrounding. 10 minutes walk to Vienna Schönbrunn Palace!

To all, which want to participate actively: Please announce to us as soon as if you consider participating and with what model. Photos would naturally much be helpful. We will be pleased with every participant!

We are taking care of the exhibition ourselves and each exhibitor can also be present and can personally comment her or his model(s).

Should any new details occur we will naturally communicate them.

Robert A. Tögel
Vizepräsident der FHS
Sektionschef Modellbau
