| Upper Deck Railing, The Bridge |

I cut the
posts and drilled them through, files and nailed to either deck or separate
stock of wood. Then drew through the holes the rods. On straight sections, I
could have placed full length rod, on curvy parts, I had to fight.
Somewhere in the middle of the upped deck a life-boat will be placed. On the level of the boat railing is broken and replaced with small chains. Rings holding the chains are soldered to posts. Stern part of upper deck railing was the most difficult. To make sure all 3 railing wires have exactly the same shape I prepared a small jig which cut out shape, and then formed the wires using that jig.
Main bridge railing was built completely outside i.e. on the block of wood. Whole construction consists of 3 parts really - port sides and stem with its curve. Pre-shaped sections were soldered together and removed from the wooden stand.
Here I slightly jump forward with few pictures to show how the railing finally looks like. About gratings and the compass I will write separately, as I believe they are worth of having separate section. Anyway, this is the state of Zenit from September:
