New from Shipyard - Santa Maria & Lexington

Santa Maria
Santa Maria
Flagship Santa Maria was a larger round-hull ship also called nao. Christopher Columbus himself piloted Santa Maria in 1492. She was a merchant ship between 200-600 tons with length of 75 feet and width 25 feet.

Now ShipYard is releasing their 3rd laser cut set with Santa Maria in scale 1:72. The box includes abolutely all you need to build that card model.

Almost at the same time we can see that the publisher also releases standard card model of American brig Lexington from 1776!
Looking at the descriptions, seems it should be fairly stright forward one....

Model Ships Festival in Vienna

LATEST!
First pictures in the gallery.
More to come!

Now it is certain: The Model Ships Festival (Fest der Modellschiffe) will take place between 28th and 30th March 2008 in Vienna-Hietzing.
The exhibition will be hosted at Hietzing district office buildings -
Hietzinger Kai 1.

The impressive building stands directly by the Wienfluß (Vienna river) and with its tower is visible from far away! Two festival rooms are connected by wide corridors, which will likewise serve us as showrooms.

The exhibition is organized by FHS - Freunde Historischer Schiffe - together with the Municipality of Hietzing. A Cooperation with the district museum Hietzing is also planned. The FHS sections:  Model Building,  History and k.u.k. Naval Plants and Fortresses are the supervisors of 2 ½ days event, where exhibitors from Austria and other countries are expected.
