Quick note today…..
Extended my ropewalk and managed to get ropes over 2 meters (7 feet ) long!
Having all set I laid left and right handed ropes.

And made my first ever bowsprit gammoning!!!!

Quite some time have passed as I am recently really busy at work.
This Saturday I decided to take small break and spent some time modelling.
Some time ago I ripped off old gratings because I was not fully happy with them... and replaced them with those from the shop.
They are much nicer. Since I already know how to make them myself.... I can now start using ready made Wooden Gratings

Gratings are made of birch, nice bright wood that can be stained to any colour. I left them natural and treated them with oil.
Frames are from sapelli wood:

Normally after coming back home only for the weekend I have very limited time with tons of things to do. Today managed to squeeze in some quality Wodnik time

and finished forecastle grating and brushed them with oil:

And started to place railing stanchions. For top rail plank I am thinking to use either lemon tree wood or acacia. Both are nice yellow. Will make test with both to see how they will look on the model.

Touched my tools and wood today
And decided to tackle the gunport lids... and got stuck. Have to figure out the best method of attaching them to the hull.

Has anyone got decent tip or trick to do so?

Cheers
