My current project was already well under way when I discovered this forum whilst posting on model ship world, so, I figured i'd fill you in on what I have been doing.

This is Nord Icelandia, purchased off a member of the UK based model boat mayhem forum as a rough anchor handling vessel. Since then the model has progressed into a model of a survey ship, though its paintwork will need some attention.

this is how she started off...

...prior to going to the Blackpool model boat show at the Norbreck Castle Hotel, the hull was painted...

...at Black pool show, her running gear and the A-frame was built, however, I at this stage wanted to have the A-frame running, and was not in anyway happy with the frame.

Her running gear is an MFA 380 race motor, the original motor had enough torque to pull a small planet off its axis but wouldn't push Nord Icelandia.

...that aside, she had a successful sea trial, however something had to change, and so work on a new super structure was started...

...after a successful sea trial, the next few weeks were spent fabricating a new super structure and the old tall a-frame was cut down to something more realistic...

...new super structure in place, with a rather odd mast, Nord Icelanida sailed again. however more changes were on the cards..
